'We're Back Pitches!'

Hello my lovelies,

Yes I know this film has been out for a while now but moving back home from university and applying for jobs in the big wide world has kept me busy. My friends and I actually went to see Pitch Perfect 2 on its release day here in the UK and can easily say we loved it.

Watching the first film would definitely help to follow the story throughout the second film, however I wouldn't say that its a must before seeing Pitch Perfect 2 as its an easy plot to pick up on. The first film allows you to meet the characters for the first time and gets you hooked.

The film is based on an all girl a cappella group called the Barden Bellas taking on others in competitions to be the world champions. After becoming the national champions in the first film, they prepare for the championships but its a bit of a tough ride getting that far.

Following Pitch Perfect 1 the acting is still brilliant, and the addition of new girl freshman Emily Junk (Hailee Steinfeld) works well with the rest of the group and allows events at the end of the film to suggest there could even be a third film to come.

As it is a film based on musical groups, the song choices for the soundtrack work really well together, and are all very catchy. I have definitely caught myself singing the songs to myself on more than one occasion with one favourite being Flashlight by Jessie J. We are introduced to more a cappella groups such as Das Sound Machine (DSM), Team Canada (played by Pentatonix), Green Bay Packers, and of course the Treble Makers are still there.

The comedy element of Pitch Perfect is still there in the second film, and Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) is still a definite favourite for hilarious scenes although they each have their own quirks and moments that make the audience laugh out loud.

It can easily be said that both of the Pitch Perfect films are feel good films, you can't watch without laughing and resisting the urge to sing along. They're great for watching alone or with a group of friends for a night in. I would definitely recommend this to those that like comedy films, even though it can be seen as a little bit of a girly film I would still suggest it to guys I think might like it too. Definitely worth a watch!

Until next time, thanks for reading :) x
